Batlang Bontle Zenith O. Mokhatu Founder [email protected] 264 813934070 September 15, 2025 Honorable Embassy Windhoek, Namibia Dear Sir/ Madam I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of BATLANG BONTLE , a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting and empowering the San girl child in the Omaheke Region, Namibia, specifically in the Aminius Constituency. The name BATLANG BONTLE means "Seek God’s Beauty" in Setswana, and it reflects our belief in the inherent beauty and potential of every girl, especially those from marginalized communities like the San. Although the challenges faced by both the San girl child and boy child are significant, the reality is that the girl child often faces greater adversity. The San girl, in particular, is a population with enormous untapped potential—a gold mine of talent and leadership waiting to be discovered and nurtured. However, due to entrenched socio-cultural barriers and a lack of access to basic necessities, the full potential of these girls remains largely unfulfilled. We are seeking your esteemed embassy’s support to provide basic yet essential resources—toiletries, sanitation, and school uniforms—to enable these girls to break free from the cycle of poverty and marginalization. With your help, we can equip these girls with the tools they need to not only attend school but to thrive academically and personally. The Challenge: San Girls in the Omaheke Region San communities, particularly in the Omaheke Region and Aminuis Constituency, are some of the most marginalized in Namibia. San girls, especially those from Grade 7 upwards, face the following challenges: • Limited access to education: Many San girls are unable to attend school due to socio-economic barriers, including the lack of basic necessities like school uniforms, toiletries, and sanitary products. • Poor sanitation: Basic hygiene, including access to clean toilets and sanitary items, is often absent, making it difficult for girls to attend school regularly, especially during menstruation. • Cultural and economic isolation: While the boy child also faces challenges, the San girl child is particularly vulnerable. They are often expected to assume caregiving roles at home, which hinders their educational opportunities and potential for social mobility. These girls are not forgotten; however, their needs are often overlooked. The San girl child is uniquely sensitive to these barriers because her access to education, dignity, and opportunity is compromised at multiple levels. We believe that by meeting their immediate needs—such as access to sanitation, toiletries, and school uniforms—we can create a foundation for their future success. Our Vision: Empowering the San Girl Child At BATLANG BONTLE, we are dedicated to ensuring that San girls are not left behind. Our vision is to create a sustainable and empowering environment where these girls can flourish. We aim to provide: 1. Toiletries and Sanitation Products: Supplying sanitary pads, soap, toothbrushes, and other hygiene items to ensure that girls can attend school with confidence and dignity. 2. School Uniforms and Learning Materials: Providing school uniforms, books, and basic supplies to enable San girls to participate fully in their education without feeling excluded. 3. Mentorship and Life Skills Programs: Offering mentorship, life skills training, and leadership development programs that will empower these girls to become future leaders in their communities. The Impact of Your Support We are seeking a grant of N$100 000.00 to help us achieve the following objectives: 1. Distribute hygiene kits to 100 San girls, ensuring that they have the necessary toiletries and sanitary products to maintain health and dignity. 2. Provide uniforms and learning supplies to 100+ San girls, ensuring they have what they need to attend school with confidence and pride. 3. Launch mentorship programs for 150 San girls, connecting them with role models and leaders who can guide them on their journey to self-empowerment. With your support, we can make a real difference in the lives of these girls, breaking down the barriers that have hindered their progress for generations. Why This Matters Investing in the San girl child is not only an act of compassion but also an investment in the future of an entire community. When girls are given the tools to succeed, they go on to become powerful agents of change in their families and communities. Empowering these girls will create ripple effects—improving education, health, and economic opportunities for the entire region. This project aligns with the core values of your embassy, particularly in advancing gender equality, human rights, and sustainable development. Your support will help ensure that the San girl child receives the same opportunities as any other child to grow, learn, and become a leader in her community. Aim and Objectives: • Aim: To provide essential resources (toiletries, sanitation, uniforms) and mentorship to San girls in the Omaheke Region, enabling them to access education and empowering them to become leaders in their communities. • Objectives: 1. Distribute hygiene kits and toiletries. 2. Establish clean sanitation facilities. 3. Supply school uniforms and educational materials. 4. Launch mentorship and leadership programs. 5. Raise community awareness and engage local leaders. 6. Ensure the project’s long-term sustainability. Conclusion We would be honored to partner with your embassy in this crucial initiative to empower the San girl child. By addressing their immediate needs for sanitation, toiletries, and school uniforms, we can provide these girls with a foundation for a better future. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss this project further or provide any additional information you may need. Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you in seeking God’s beauty in the lives of these incredible girls. Sincerely, Zenith Oaitse Mokhatu Founder/Chairman Batlang Bontle [email protected] 264 813934070
